As well as working with clients to determine the general nature of the wireless system that their business operations require, T James proceeds to ‘narrow down’ the specification of the system to the most appropriate wireless technology needed.

Having completed this stage we then take the level of the design to a full product specification of the actual system required. Part of the network design is to identify the precise location of WAN radios and LAN Access Points to provide an interface to network resources located on the complete network scheme, providing adequate coverage for roaming users throughout the facility.

TJames System Solutions designs innovative wireless data, voice and video solutions for its clients. How we approach the design process is determined by the type of solution required, generally categorised as:

• Backbone - a high-speed point to point connection
• Wide area - fixed broadband wireless access to mulitple locations
• Internal - professional, internal, mobile LANs for data only or data plus voice telephony
• Mobility - robust network connectivity to vehicles, people in vehicles and people on the move

• Planning the most efficient route for the wireless links using desk top and later, if required, a physical on-site engineering survey.
• Specifying equipment, including frequencies to be used.
• Taking account of the frequencies required including, if necessary, undertaking discussions with Radio Agencies (Ofcom in the UK).
• Assessing and scheduling local planning permissions.
• Designing bespoke manufacture, such as for in-vehicle installation.
• Providing a comeplete assessment of all equipment and personnel resource required for installation and commissioning.
